Wales

Brecon Beacons National Park is cycling heaven - quiet lanes and tow paths, rolling roads along unspoilt valleys, steep climbs of every conceivable length, spectacular scenery around every corner. It has everything on a cyclist’s wishlist.

It’s more John Deere than BMW around here, so you really can relax and feel safe on the road.

Our Welsh adventures began in 2021 and we now offer weekends, mid week breaks and full-week long tours all guaranteed to show Wales at its best and give you a memorable cycling experience.

We aim to make everything bespoke so tell us the level of challenge you and your group are looking for and we will arrange it.

Be supported or unsupported, guided or given GPS files, the choice is yours.

We are an accredited Brecon Beacons National Park ambassador.

Suggested Adventures

There is so much cycling to be enjoyed in Wales that we have pulled together a few ideas to get you started.

The “Beast of the Beacons” will test even the most experienced mountain goats, whilst our “Gastronomy” tour operates at a much more gentle pace with the opportunity every day to taste the best of Welsh food and drink along the way.

Here are just a few of the style of adventures we can create for you and your cycling friends:

Beasts of the beacons

high

Over a weekend you will take on many of the challenging climbs of Brecon Beacons including Gospel Pass, the highest paved road pass in Wales; Torpantau, with its views onto PenY Fan, the highest point in South Wales; Bwlch Cerrig Duon, arguably the most idyllic crossing of The Beacons; The Tumble, the finish line for many a race over the years.

gastronomy tour

gentle/intermediate

Discover just why Abergavenny has gained a reputation for the quality of its restaurants with this themed tour. Each day you will ride to a different food and drink producer, experiencing the purity of the environment along the way, get a taste and tour of their business and then either ride home or use the services of our support vehicle to get you back. The tour includes: Penderyn distillery, White Castle Vineyard, Talgarth Mill and Untapped Brewery.

Gravel

high/intermediate

With gravel bikes, you can truly get off the beaten track and immerse yourself in the wondrous, at times bleak beauty of the Brecon Beacons and Cambrian Mountains. On occasions, you will be carrying the bikes but the rewards are immense as you get to see Wales in its raw unfiltered state. Just you, your bike and nature.

Irish Sea weekender

high

A 260km clockwise journey, starting and finishing at PYP. Head West on day one, across the Cambrian Mountains, including the fearsome ascent of Devils Staircase to reach the sea at Aberystwyth. On day two we return via Devils Bridge, Elan Valley and then follow the Wye. Stunning.

End to end

high

Begin in the South East corner at Chepstow on the border with England and finish in the furthest point North and West on Anglesey. It’s 350km and 6000m of climbing, visiting Brecon Beacons, Wye valley, Cambrian Mountains, Snowdonia. An epic journey that can be tackled anything from non stop for the nutcases to four days.

TOwpaths and cafes

gentle

The Brecon and Monmouth canal is probably the most beautiful manmade waterway in the UK. Over two days take your time to explore its length, learn the history of its important role in the Industrial revolution and visit those places along the way. Take your time and savour the surroundings.

Great loop from Llangynidr down to Pontypool, where we pick up the old disused railway to make a circumnavigation of Iron Mountain to Govilon Wharf, from where we return along the canal to PYP.
